This stunning modern cottage in Martha’s Vineyard was designed by Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects as an ode to the outdoors. Framing the breathtaking vistas of Chilmark Pond and the Atlantic Ocean, Chilmark House blends a traditional cottage essence with a contemporary aesthetic for a truly unique home. The facade of wood siding, lead-coated copper and steel give this design a rustic appeal. Inside, it’s contemporary comforts all the way. Large windows were a must, in order to make the most of the spectacular views. Embracing the outdoors, OSKA Architects used outdoor patios, screened porches and terraces to divide the main living areas of the house from its private spaces – the master bedroom, guestroom and garage. An infinity pool is the perfect finishing touch, appearing to spill over into the Atlantic just beyond.
