“Prefab” and “sustainable” is a pairing that goes together like salt and pepper, but architect Daniel Libeskind does it with a little added spice in his contemporary design for The Villas. Ready to ship and assemble wherever you choose to call “home,” these modern prefab villas are part of a signature series that mirrors the sharp edges and asymmetrical angles of crystal. Clad in zinc, the design for these eco friendly prefab homes allowed the architect to incorporate sustainable technologies such as a solar thermal system and a rain-water recycling system located on the home’s green rooftop.

The structure is largely constructed of wood, used for its remarkable carbon-storing capacity and responsible for the home’s minimal carbon footprint. The eco-story continues, with renewable energy sources supplying the home’s heating, electricity and water, and a geothermal system with a high-efficiency heat pump. These innovative 515m2, two-storey luxury villas with basement don’t skimp on the extras, boasting four bedrooms.
