Nepal has always remained sovereign state throughout its history. The country opened its doors to the foreigners in 1949 when Himalayan mountaineering expeditions were allowed for the first rime from Nepal. The successful ascent of Annapurna (8091m) and Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachaenal in 1950 and later the ascent of Mt Everest (8848m) the highest peak in earth by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgey Sherpa in 1953 gave Nepal instant publicity across the world. The period 1950-196 is termed as the golden era of climbing in Himalayas when all the highest 8000 meter peaks were climbed.

EVEREST TREK : With eight of the worlds highest peaks, Nepal is loaded with spectacular mountains' vistas. The Everest trek is justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain but also for its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, great variety of cultures and traditions, colorful festivals and monasteries. MARDI HIMAL is the name given to the feature of the long ridge and its summit that forms the south-western lower slope of Mount Machhapuchhare - the famous traingular skyline that is seen from the Phewa Lake at Pokhara. As the name implies, the term "fish tail" means "fish tail". Machhapuchhare is the most southerly point of the Annapurna Massif, the majestic grouping of mountains in the central Himalayas that includes 5 of the 12 highest mountains in the world! - All at close or very close quarters to our route.

Around every corner is a tantalizing glimpse of the high mountains, the whole horizons of which will be revealed to you as you reach the high points of your trek.
